European aircraft manufacturer Airbus delivered 78 commercial aircraft in October, continuing to face challenges in meeting its year-end target of 820 deliveries.
According to Bloomberg data, the company delivered a total of 585 aircraft in the first ten months of the year. This means Airbus would need to deliver 118 aircraft in both November and December to meet its target.
Although struggling to meet its monthly delivery expectations, Airbus has not yet revised its annual goal. The company continues to adhere to its production plan despite global supply chain disruptions and difficulties in engine manufacturing.
Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury stated that the delivery process is taking place in a complex production environment and emphasized that efforts to increase production capacity are ongoing. He highlighted that delays in engine supply from Pratt & Whitney and CFM International have prevented the delivery of several flight-ready aircraft.
While Airbus is expected to reach over 700 deliveries by the end of the year, it is still likely to fall short of the 820 target. However, the company’s performance remains stronger than that of Boeing, which continues to struggle with its own production issues.
